Celebrate Poetry Month!
Read a Poem, Get a Loaf

Chabaso Bakery continues its tradition of giving a free loaf of artisan bread to anyone who visits Atticus Bookstore Café or Chabaso outlet store Fridays in April and reads a poem aloud. Consult a poetry book (we'll have some on hand), read a favorite poem or recite one from memory. Last year, Chabaso and Atticus gave out almost 500 loaves to poetry lovers.

"Poetry, like bread, is for everyone," wrote poet Roque Dalton.
