WNPR, along with CPTV, is part of Connecticut Public Broadcasting, Inc., the state’s only locally owned media organization producing TV, radio,print and Internet content for distribution to Connecticut’s wide-ranging and diverse communities. WNPR reaches an estimated 180,000 radio listeners each week. WNPR’s community-supported, statewide public broadcasting networks are dedicated to serving diverse communities with a mix of educational, news, public affairs, children's, and entertainment programming and services.
WNPR offers news, information and entertainment programming that is available to listeners both on the radio and online. The award-winning WNPR news department originates in-depth news reports on issues and events of importance to Connecticut – such as politics, technology, business, the environment and the arts – that frequently are selected for national broadcast on NPR.
